Software Updates

Every piece of software on your digital devices - from the simplest app to the operating system itself - needs constant care to keep your information safe. Often, you'll get an unexpected prompt on a digital device saying something along the lines of, "A new software update is available. Would you like to install now?" It's easy to hit "Postpone", but without software updates, your devices will slowly become more and more vulnerable to attacks. Each time you install a software update, another security hole gets patched, protecting your information so you can focus on doing what you love.

AUTOMATIC UPDATES

Most modern operating systems have an option to enable automatic software updates. If you choose to disable this, be extra vigilant about manually updating frequently and keeping your devices current. Also be aware that old versions of operating systems such as Windows Vista, OS X Yosemite, etc., are no longer supported with security updates. The links below will take you to information about how to adjust your automatic update settings.
