New Designer Onboarding

Onboarding Tasks

Get Creative Cloud
Install Adobe, see instructions here.
If you are unable to see or install it, request access at http://adobe.byu.edu. Choose the request access button under "Employee: Part-Time/Student".

Check for OIT Share Folder in Box
Log in to http://box.byu.edu and confirm you have access to the "OIT Share" folder. If you don't or you need assistance, call 801-422-4000 to get added to the OIT employees GRO Group and that will give you access to the folder.

Download MS Office
Log into http://office.byu.edu to download MS Office apps to your computer and to use those cloud services (or you can use the Software Center in the Self-service app).

Monitor Your First Paycheck
Make a note to monitor your paycheck and contact oitpayroll@byu.edu for help with specific questions or concerns.

Make a Note of Your Computer Support Representative (CSR)
Aaron Perkins is our CSR. You may message him directly on teams with computer trouble. The CSR team (including student employees) are on the third floor. This is also where you can get miscellaneous computer accessories (if available).

OIT/ITB Orientation
Schedule yourself for OIT employee orientation. You should receive an invitation from the HR team (oitpayroll@byu.edu). Please send an email if you haven't heard from them in the first three days.

Create and Submit Your Regular Work Schedule
Create a recurring calendar invitation in Outlook for your general work schedule and invite Brian Anderson and Mark Nielsen to it.
Notify your manager in advance if you need to change your schedule temporarily.

We use Microsoft Outlook. Familiarize yourself with basic email and calendaring skills.

Beginning Graphic Design Tutorial

Watch all six modules and create a graphic design for the ITB Monitors. See your manager for the topic.

Bright Spot Quickstart Tutorials
Watch all tutorials.
Project: Using what you learned, create a personal profile page in Brightspot that highlights who you are. Send the preview link to Mark and Brian.

Twenty-minute Training Tours
Please spend at least 20 minutes surfing each of the following internal websites:
